This page isn't very pretty, is it?

No, but it’s with good reason…

We’re Jake and Cal. We run Katala.

We started the company about 5 years ago, and, like all 5 year olds, it keeps our hands full.

We have no investors, no partnerships and no interest in expanding to cover anything non-Maths.

That means no profit-hungry overlords to answer to, no being pulled in other directions, and no splitting our focus. We spend all our time doing what we know best – helping students get better at Maths.

Win.

Maybe one day things will change. For now, we’re a dedicated, independent team. We do what we love and what we think students need most.

So yeah, this page could be fancier. But instead of polishing it, Jake went to build a new feature and Cal cooked up some content. Things students will actually use.

Sorry, not sorry…

We put minimum effort into this page, so we can put maximum effort into teaching. We’re Maths specialists, and proud of it.

Inside, the site is lovely. But you’ll have to make an account to see it… or just take our word for it.

Wondering where the name Katala comes from?

It comes from the Greek word katalaveis – "you understand".

Ancient Greece gave us some of history’s most influential Mathematicians. They knew better than anyone that being good at Maths starts with understanding.

And that’s our whole game too: helping you understand Maths, not just survive it.
