We are Katala's founders and we are Maths people. In fact, the whole Katala team are Maths people - everyone graduated with a Maths degree from a top UK university, so you can rest assured you're learning from experts.

Being Maths people, we live and breathe it. It's what we know, what we love, and what we believe is most important for students to do well in. ​That's why our top priority is making GCSE Maths easy for you to understand.

The second most important thing to us (and it's a very close second) is making it simple for you to learn. We aim to give you the most straightforward experience with everything you do on Katala. Whether you're signing up, learning and revising, or asking us a question, it'll be easy as pi.

 

We started Katala knowing from our years' of traditional tutoring experience how beneficial private tuition could be for students striving for good grades. Sure, tutors teach students and help them revise, but they also answer questions, provide worksheets, and help build exam confidence. All this got us wondering, shouldn't everyone have a private tutor?

The problem? Maths tuition is super expensive and outside of lessons students are on their own if they get stuck. ​So we set out to change the way students learn and revise GCSE Maths, and build something that everyone can use.
